BREAKING FASHION NEWS: A Robe can replace your OLD Winter Coats

I swear, I am not doing this on purpose.  But generally when I see a picture that causes me want to comment, I do, if not at least to myself.  So Rihanna, an already blogged about fashion victim this week, is back for Round 2.

I know we have all had nightmares about leaving our house naked.  Okay, I am pretty sure I have not had that particular dream, but you always see it on TV shows or movies.  So work with me here.  But as soon as I saw this picture of her in this coat going to dinner in Los Angeles, I immediately thought of the robe I got for Christmas.  And then wondered...why is she wearing hers out in public?

This is pretty much how I look every morning in my front yard trying to water my plants without my neighbors or random strangers seeing me in it.  And she wore this out in public.

Hmmm, how to save the outfit???

Maybe if she had a longer skirt, pants, a dress...anything that would make me think she had something on underneath.  All I can wonder now is, what's under the coat?  Or is it like High School graduation and she lost a bet and had to flash the whole restaurant? I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say she has a lovely ensemble on underneath, classy and all.

Rihanna, not quite sure how often I have posted about you.  I can think of at least four separate times, which is better than some, worst than others.  But it might be time to go for more drastic moves.  I previously told you to destroy your last dress, the pink loofah.  I think you should start thinking that it might be time to FIRE your fashion consultants.

And in case you are wonder, no, I do not plan to wear my Betsy Johnson pink and white bow robe out in public this weekend. Well at least not without pants underneath it!!!

Has anyone seen my Loofah?

Last night was the Grammy Awards, with the usual culprits in attendance. I won't talk about how Kanye West gave his point of view, whether we wanted it or not.  Or I won't mention Madonna's matador outfit. Or Iggy's birds nest braid on top of her head.  Nope, the texts I received most comments on about the Grammy's (which I did not watch), were about Rihanna's outfit...or the pink loofah she wore.

She definitely gave pretty in pink a new meaning.  Wow...that is poofy!  Questions I was immediately asked where:

1. Did she go in the limo like that?
2. How does she sit down?

Maybe she didn't sit all night. And maybe she caught a gust of wind and flew to the awards show, leaving the limo at home and saving a few bucks.

Hmmm, how to save the outfit?

The color itself was very pretty on her.  And the top of the dress. And that is all the good I can say. From there down...it literally goes down hill.  I have attached a picture to the right of a loofah, for those of you who may not know what one is.  Yes that sponge thing in your shower that you use to rub body wash on you is called a "Loofah."  It is not something you should wear as a dress.  The only thing that could of made this even worse, would be a matching pink loofah clutch.  Although maybe that would of helped too?

Rihanna, I have somewhat questioned your style in the past, per recent posts. And your decisions maybe a little more, I won't even mention round 2 with Chris Brown.  But this is pretty bad.  I would say BURN this dress immediately.  Because even if it was awful, you didn't even wear it best, this girl did:

A Nip Above the Rest

I know, I know, they are the darts in her dress.  But all anyone can say is, check out those nipples!

And yes, I am sure Anne Hathaway didn't care, but when you are the front runner to win one of the biggest awards of the night, you might want to plan a bit better.  But I still love her, so I will let this slide...just don't do it again.  Congrats on your Les Miserables Oscar.  I am sorry about the nipple action.  But like 10 years this was the biggest craze!!!

Another Day...Another Movie Premiere...Another Bad Dress

Total Recall opens in the theaters today and so the premiere photos have been plentiful.  And as much as I would like to pick on some men in suits, who am I kidding, I don't want to pick on men in suits.  I like men in suits, more men should wear them.  But the premiere performance that bombed (hopefully the movie wont) comes from the female stars of the film, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.

Left to Right: Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale
Let's start with Kate first, as she is on my list of 'Style I Admire.'  But I do not admire this dress.  Kate is pretty and has such an amazing physique that she can pull almost anything off, but even this Anaconda looking dress is too much for her.  Did she kill it and skin it on her way?  Cuz that may have made it more interesting.  As one of the few female action stars (see Underworld Trilogy) and looks badass in the trailer, I would believe it. But what I cannot believe is her hair stylist let her go out in with what I can only phrase as Medusa Snake looking hair.  She has amazing hair-I think she could of done better.
Now on to Jessica...in a light pink Dior number.  The pockets on the side seem to be a new trend, but aside from the fact that she looks like a giant cotton candy, there is nothing else to the outfit.  The jewels she is wearing don't fit with the style of the dress-shouldn't be wearing pearls?  And the shoes and matching clutch do very little to help out the look.  But the worst part is the length of the dress.  It needs to either be shorter or longer, but not mid calf.

Hmmm, how to save the outfit?

For Kate, I just don't like the dress.  It was a brave attempt, but with no other accessories and lack luster hair, there is nothing to stand against the dress.  So I wouldn't try the look again.  Maybe if it was a shorter dress-like a python mini dress?  Add some amazing heels and there is a bit of a start.  For Jessica, the length is wrong to begin with too.  As you can see in the models picture from the Dior Runway show, the length on the model is much more flattering.  And I love her Electric Blue pumps.  The model completely outshines the movie star in this one, maybe Jessica's people should take another look at this photo before attempting this again.

Kate and Jessica probably shouldn't want to recall this event outfits ever again, sorry bad joke, but I think you get the idea.  Kate you need to BURN this dress and Jessica, this makes you a repeat offender.  Time to start deciding if you want to keep your peeps or FIRE.  I personally would take a long look at the shoe choices. But I have seen you look much better recently, and if I were you,  I would expect more from the people I pay to dress me.  Just saying...
